Ncr21700t Datasheet Hot ^new^ | Panasonic
Panasonic NCR21700T is a high-drain 21700 lithium-ion cell frequently utilized in high-performance applications like electric vehicles and power tools. While an official "public" manufacturer datasheet specifically labeled "T" can be elusive, its performance parameters are well-documented by technical retailers and testing reports. Core Specifications Typical Capacity: 5000mAh (Minimum 4800mAh–4900mAh). Nominal Voltage: 3.6V – 3.7V. Discharge Current: 15A to 30A maximum continuous, with peak bursts up to 40A. Charge Voltage: Промелектроніка Temperature & Thermal Limits

The choice ultimately depends on the application: prioritize capacity for runtime, or current for power. The NCR21700T strikes an excellent balance between the two. Panasonic NCR21700T is a high-drain 21700 lithium-ion cell
Standardly rated at 15A, but often used up to 30A with proper thermal monitoring; peak bursts up to 40A are possible. Dimensions: 21.1mm diameter by 70.4mm height. Nominal Voltage: 3
When discharged at 15A continuous, the cell temperature will rise significantly.
The primary driver of thermal behavior is the cell's internal resistance (DCIR). Panasonic's datasheet lists typical DCIR at 1 kHz as ≤ 20 mΩ, but under DC load at 15A, effective resistance rises to ~25 mΩ due to polarization. Joule heating (P = I²R) at 15A yields approximately 5.6W of internal heat. This heat must be conducted through the jellyroll to the can wall. The datasheet’s thermal derating curve shows that at 20A continuous, surface temperature hits after 10 minutes in still air—exceeding the recommended 60°C operating window for longevity.
Panasonic hides the true power limitation in the pulsed data. For a 10-second pulse, the cell can handle 45A. However, the recovery time between pulses is critical. If you are pulling 35A continuously (as implied by the "max continuous" rating), you will hit the cut-off if used in a protected cell, or you will hit the Thermal Trip in your mod.
