Facegen For Genesis 9 2021
No workflow is perfect. Using FaceGen for Genesis 9 comes with a reality check:
Creating unique, hyper-realistic human characters is a cornerstone of modern 3D animation, game development, and digital art. Daz 3D’s Genesis 9 figure platform represents a massive leap forward in anatomical detail, offering a unified base for both male and female characters. However, manually sculpting a specific face or replicating a real-world person from scratch remains an incredibly time-consuming process.

Unfortunately, the UV maps don't match. You cannot slap a FaceGen texture directly onto Genesis 9 without distortion. You have two options:
The Genesis 9 figure structure utilizes an updated vertex count and a single, gender-neutral topology that scales across various shapes, ages, and ethnicities. Because the mesh structure has changed significantly from previous generations (like Genesis 3 and 8), dedicated tools are required to map facial data accurately. No workflow is perfect

To bridge to Genesis 9 correctly, specific export settings are required within FaceGen:
Look for the directory (or search for the custom name you gave your export). Dial the morph slider to 100% to transform the face.
Once the initial generation is complete, use the tabs on the right side of the FaceGen interface to fine-tune the results:
